Mr. Allen was a resident of Dodson and a member of the Baptist Church. He operated a shoe repair shop and formerly farmed.
He was the oldest child born to the union of Alexander Hamilton Allen and Susan E. Hughes. He married Sarah Fannie Jordan in Winn Parish on November 12, 1891. After her death in 1925, he married Mrs. Bertha Burnum Kirkland.
He was survived by his second wife, Bertha Allen; one daughter, Alma Pearl Jones of Ruston; his mother, Susan E. Allen of Dodson; four brothers, Neil Allen of Dodson, Archie Allen and Will Allen, both of Jonesville, and Clayton Allen of Franklin Parish; three sisters, Mrs. Richard E. Waller, Mrs. Myrtle Walker of Dodson, and Mrs. Bessie Jordan of Pineville.
