Virginia A. Pohlman
Funeral services for Virginia A. Pohlman (nee Geary), 87, a lifelong resident of Lake Zurich, were held Aug. 6 at St. Peter United Church of Christ, Lake Zurich. Born April 25, 1914, in Lake Zurich, she died Aug. 1 at Lutheran Home, Arlington Heights.
Mrs. Pohlman had managed Lake Zurich Golf Club for more than 50 years. She was a member of St. Peter Church, the Women's Auxiliary of the Lake Zurich Fire Department and the Lake Zurich Women's Club, and was a charter member and past worthy matron of Lake Zurich Order of the Eastern Star 1026.
She is survived by a son, Stuart R. (Dorothy); grandchildren Virginia (Bill) Harris and Stuart W.; great-grandchildren Billy Harris, Rebecca Harris and Gailmarie Pastore-Pohlman; a sister, Betty Gruebanu; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Jr.; siblings Julius Geary and Marge Frank; and her parents, Olive and Louis Geary. Interment was in Lake Zurich Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lake Zurich Temple Association, 101 Oak St., Lake Zurich IL 60047. Arrangements were made with Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, Wauconda.
