Mr. Jordan was the last surviving child born to the union of Thomas Alexander Jordan and Sarah Mariah Lowrey, who married in Bibb Co., AL on September 26, 1840. He married Vierranus Dean in Winn Parish about 1870. She preceded him in death in 1906.
He was survived by three sons, James Averett Jordan, William Lafayette "Will" Jordan and Thomas Lawson Jordan; two daughters, Sarah Fannie Allen and Alma Walker; and 17 grandchilden.
