Patricia A. Gundlach, nee Bann, born February 2,1927, in Freeburg, Ill., joined her Risen Savior on May 16, 2015, in Belleville Ill. Pat grew up in Freeburg until her family moved to Belleville when she was 16. She was involved in archery, softball, and also was a USO Commando. Pat earned her degree in science, and worked as a registered medical technician at St. Elizabeth's Hospital for many years. On October 25, 1952, Pat married the love of her life, Theodore F. Gundlach, who left this life October 26, 2006, the day after their 54th wedding anniversary. During their life together, Pat and Ted danced their way through life, even performing on the Admiral riverboat. Pat traveled with Ted for the family business, visiting many countries around the world. Pat was a loyal and devoted member of St. Teresa Catholic Church in Belleville, Ill., for over 50 years. Pat's home was always open to many family functions and teenage gatherings. She did many needlecrafts, was an avid bowler, card player, theater enthusiast, and crossword puzzler. She and Ted also were very generous with the good fortunes that the Lord had bestowed on them. Pat also was passionate about family photography. It was once said that her children never had to guess what they looked like, or where they had been at any time in their lives. Pat was the perfect example of a mother to her two daughters and grandchildren. She also extended her motherly love to her many "adopted" children, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Pat was also preceded in death by her father, Patrick J. and her mother, Adeline C., nee Wisnewski, Bann; her sister, Mary Jo Lucash; and brothers-in-law, J. Benjamin Lucash, Dr. Henry J. Brattensborg, Carl F. Veach, and Joseph J. Gundlach.Surviving are her daughters, Mary Barbara (Jim) Compton, and Laurie Ann "Lolly" (Chris) Frillman; three grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) LoPresti, Molly Compton, and Lucas Frillman; three sisters, Betty (Jack) Liberty, Ruth Brattensborg, and Laura Veach; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to Pat's caregivers, Michelle and Stacey, for their loving care through her final months of life, to Mary Gomez, for her love, friendship, treats and goodies, and to Laura Veach, for her unconditional support, time and hair-do's.
