Lt. Col. (retired Army) Harold Steven "Steve" Booker, age 59, died peacefully at Ogeechee Area Hospice on Monday, December 19, 2011 after a long battle with Frontal Lobe Aphasia, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases. Steve proudly served in the Army from 1971 to 1991, retiring as a nurse anesthetist. He was a member of Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon from 1993 to the present. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Booker.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Leasha Barnes Booker; daughter, Tara Booker Williford; son, Tiger Booker (Gena); three grandchildren, Landon and Leah Williford, and Addy Booker; his mother, Irma Booker Haney; and brother, Stan Booker (Charlene).
