Paul F. Strobel, age 99, formerly of Vandalia, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017, at Ohio Living Dorothy Love in Sidney, Ohio. Paul was born September 22, 1917 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Lewis Edward & Sarah (Fillabaum) Strobel. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, LaVerne (Thomas) Strobel.

Paul was a 52-year member of the Vandalia Masonic Lodge; a charter member of the Vandalia VFW; and he served as a volunteer fireman for Wayne Twp. (before it was Huber Heights). During WW II he served in the U. S. Army Air Corps.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Rhonola Griffis-Strobel; son, Dennis Strobel (Ellen); step-son, Aaron T. Jones (Kimberly); three grandchildren, Shannon (Casey), Mara & Hope; and by four great grandchildren, Kody, Rayna, Vann & Jaidyn.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday (7/18) at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Paul to the Wilson Health Hospice.
