Max A. Montoya was born on April 5, 1954, a resident of Albuquerque, joined his son, Joseph in heaven on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Max is survived by his loving wife, Rosella of 36 years. Max was a great loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Max was preceded in death by his son, Joseph James, his parents, Magdaleno S. and Faustina A. Montoya, his sister, Marie Mascarenas and brother, Dennis R. Montoya. Survivors include his sisters, Therese A. Montoya, Ann Marie Montoya, Linda Candelaria, Vicky M. DeHerrera (Michael), Loretta Shute (Jeff) and Catherine Montoya, brothers, Frank Montoya (Janice), Michael M. Montoya and Andy Montoya. Other survivors include his father-in-law, Charlie G. Madrid, brother-in-law, James Madrid (Hilda) and Ernest Madrid and sister-in-law, Priscilla Madrid and Connie Romero (John). Max is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Max was a member of Holy Ghost Parish. Mac enjoyed working on his 1965 Mustang. Max loved fishing and camping and telling great stories and jokes. Max will be remembered as a loving husband, trusted brother and for the laughter he gave to all. Max was devoted to God and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Max graduated from Valley High School in 1973. Max worked at Al Montes Restaurant, Southwest Distributing, McDonalds, and he began his government career with the US Army Corp of Engineers, Kirtland Air Force Fire Department and retired in 2014 from the US Forest Service Accounting Service Center. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
