Chief Sutton served in the U.S. Navy in WWII in the South Pacific Theater. In 1959 he joined the Texas National Guard and in 1972 transferred to the U.S. Army reserve where he retired from active duty in March of 1989. His total military service spanned over thirty seven years. Upon his retirement, he made Montague, NJ and then Milford, PA his home. He was a Lifetime member of the Milford Fire Department and served as an Emergency Medical Technician. He was also a member of the Marsch Kellogg American Legion Post 139, Milford, Pa.
