Roger E. Feltmann, 71, of Lester Prairie passed away Friday May 15 at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
Funeral Service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 19 at St. John’s Lutheran Church (101 SE 2nd Ave.) in Norwood Young America, with Rev. David Winter as officiant. Visitation will take place Monday, May 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service, ALL AT THE CHURCH; prayer service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Interment in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Norwood Young America.

Visitation Monday 4:00 – 8:00 PM and 1 hour prior to the service ALL AT THE CHURCH; prayer service 7:30 pm Monday evening. Interment in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Norwood Young America.
Roger Edward Feltmann was born February 9, 1944 in Young America the son of Elmer and Adeline (Goede) Feltmann. He was baptized on February 20, 1944 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Young America by Rev. Raedeke officiating. On April 30, 1971 Roger was united in marriage with Elaine Schug at the Church Of The Ascension in Norwood by Father Russel.
Roger had attended country grade school, St. John’s Lutheran School and was a graduate of the Central High School. He began his working career in his younger years with helping area farmers and setting pins at the bowling alley. After graduating high school Roger worked at Tonka Toys for 12 years and had a couple of jobs prior to beginning his 33 year career as a machinist for Nilfisk Advance. Throughout his working life Roger enjoyed farming the most. For six years Roger had also served in the United States Army Reserve receiving his Honorable Discharge in November of 1970.
Roger enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing and attending auctions. The highlight of the week was going to the Hutchinson Sale Barn. He was a member of the YA Hunt Club. Roger loved going to the daily coffee hour with his friends. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, attending their sporting events and concerts. He looked forward to family get togethers.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Adeline Feltmann; brother Gerald Feltmann; father-in-law and mother-in-law Wilfred and Virginia Schug; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law LeRoy Schneewind, Delbert “Butch” and Joyce Schug, Gerald Meuffels, Duane “Jim” and Mary Louise Schug, Wilfred Schug Jr.
Roger is survived by his loving family: wife Elaine Feltmann; children Troy (Lisa) Feltmann of Lester Prairie, Tad (Tanya) Feltmann of Lester Prairie, Tracy (Doug) Albers of Lester Prairie; grandchildren Adam and Hope Feltmann, Marcus and Morgan Feltmann, Brooke and Michael Albers; brother Doug (Sandy) Feltmann of Aitkin; sisters Linda (Ken) Koehnen of Cologne, Brenda (Gary) Grimm of Norwood Young America; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Bev Feltmann of Norwood Young America, Darlene Schneewind of Waconia, Dolores Meuffels of Waconia, Allen and Pat Schug of Watertown, Jim and Lois Hendricks of Watertown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Serving as casket bearers Adam Feltmann, Marcus Feltmann, Lee Feltmann, Jamie Feltmann, Rob Koehnen and Brian Grimm. As honorary casket bearers Hope Feltmann, Morgan Feltmann, Brooke Albers and Michael Albers.
