Janice was a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and the Hospitality Ministry. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W., St. Martin Hospital Pink Ladies, and the Crawfish Festival Association. She enjoyed playing Pokeno, camping, dancing, cooking, and sewing. Her most enjoyable moments in life were spending time with her family and friends. Janice never met a stranger and she will always be remembered for her acts of kindness towards others and unconditional love for everyone.
She is survived by her son, Nicky Bourque of Breaux Bridge; her daughter, Sheila Bourque of New Iberia; her brother, Kenneth Hebert and his wife Vickie of St. Martinville; her sister, Lily Mae Benoit of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Dustin Bourque and wife Amanda, Nicky Bourque, Jr., Valerie Prejean and husband Kevin, Gloria Bourque, and Matthew Bourque; and her great grandchildren, Cayden Prejean, Hailey Broussard, Allie Bourque, Channing Bourque, and Trevor R. Bourque.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Volina Champagne Picard; her father, Martin Hebert; her husband, Calvin John Bourque, Sr.; her son, Calvin Bourque, Jr.; two daughters, Penny Marie Bourque and Valery Bourque; a grandson, Calvin J. Bourque, III; three brothers, Larry Hebert, Harold "Jun" Hebert, and James Robert Hebert; five sisters, Zita Bernard, Hazel Melancon, Melba Thomassee, Gloria Jean Melancon, and Mary Alice Hebert.
