Graveside service for Dillard Nelson, 84, will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Forestlawn Gardens with the Rev. Loyd Watkins officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. Survivors include two daughters, Rita Snelling (William) and Debra Haney (Michael), both of Weaver; sisters, Audrey Cotton and Melba Lee (Sterling), of Anniston and grandchildren, Zachary Haney, of Weaver, Lauren Haney, of Birmingham and Chloe Snelling, of Weaver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Henson Nelson and brothers, R. F. Nelson, Robert "Bobby" Nelson and Horace Nelson. Mr. Nelson was a member of North Weaver Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. He retired from Anniston Army Depot and was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
