Interment record in the online database for Columbus, Georgia, cemeteries reports the following: Martha ANTHONY, female, was born in Georgia, died aged 97 years in Columbus, Georgia, of "old age," and was buried 28 OCT 1941 in Riverdale Cemetery Section 5, Lot 102. Not a pauper burial. The sexton was Michelle BROWN.

Martha M. Anthony has a CSA pension application on line in the GA Archives under Muscogee County. She says she married James S Anthony on Aug. 10, 1867 in Cuthbert/Conyers GA ( Hard to read town). She says he enlisted in Forsyth, GA in 1861 and served in Co. H/K of the 1st GA Infantry. She says he was badly wounded, but discharged in Augusta, Ga. His witness statement says they were both prisoners of war at Pt. Lookout, Md federal prison. He says James S. Anthony was placed in prison in Sept. of 1863 and still there when he (the witness) was exchanged. See GA pension # 184949 in the GA Archives under Muscogee county.
