A son of Benjamin H. and Anne E. (Gutshall) Snyder. He was united in marriage with Edna L. Bowers.

Snyder is known to many as “Ses” or “Sly” and was the creator and owner of Western Village Park and Campground. He also owned M & S Construction Company from 1955 until 1985. He developed streets and underground utilities for many developments in the Carlisle area.

Snyder and wife, Edna L. Snyder, enjoyed a few years of travel in their Airstream RV with family. He was a sponsor of the Good Sam Club and President of Ridge Creek Gas and Oil Company.

Survivors include his wife, Edna L. Snyder; his daughters, Debra Ege (and husband, Sid), Sandra Donovan (and husband, Bob); his sons, Larry Snyder (and wife, Patricia) and Douglas Snyder; grandchildren, Jerome Ege (and wife, Heather), Jessica Richardson (and husband, Corey), Joshua Ege (and wife, Angel) and Derick Snyder; and great-grandchildren, Nicole Ege, Kaeli Ege, Jonah Richardson, Noah Ege, Elizabeth Ege, Stephany Ege and Jacob Ege. Also surviving are sisters, Annabelle Wetzel and Shirley Kauffman; brothers, Ray Snyder and Edward Snyder; and numerous nieces and nephews. Snyder is predeceased by his six sisters: Marion Calaman, Rose Bitner, Mable Blosser, Doris Jean Mixell, Vivian Tibbo and Betty Shuler; and two brothers, Charles Snyder and Richard Snyder.
