...On April 1, 1852, he was married Lousia Lenton. In 1856 they came to America and moved to Kansas in 1886. To this union were born seven children, Walter, Wilfred and F. O. Panter of Athol, Naomi Panter of Smith Center, Mrs. Nellie Clark of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Almira Sellman of Tompson, Mich. and Mrs. Ada Young of Bostwick, Neb. There are also nineteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His three sons were with him during his last hours.
...In early life, he united with the Episcopal church and has ever lived a consistent christian life. Much of the time, during his last years was spent reading his bible.
...The funeral services were held in the Myers school house at 2 p.m. Rev. Beard conducted the service assisted by the Congregational quartet.
...The body was laid in its last resting place in the Myers cemetery January 5, 1917.
