Howard worked for the Norge for 25 years, Town Hardware for 4 years, and then Dresser for 16 years. He was a member of Grace Christian Reformed Church in Muskegon, where he served as deacon and took care of the yard for many years. Howard also enjoyed riding his bicycle and motorcycle, reading, boating and working on cars. On August 2, 1945, Howard married the former Nila Jones in Fremont.
SURVIVORS include his wife of 69 years, Nila; son-in-law, Neal Barber of Muskegon; 2 grandchildren, Deborah Gorkisch, and Heather (Chad) Bolling; 4 great grandchildren, Dean and Abby Gorkisch, and Carter and Andrew Bolling; brother-in-law, Bob (Evelyn) Jones; and many nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Kay Barber; his parents; 5 brothers Art, Bill, Harold, Walt, and Ken Noble; sister, Clara Belle Birch; brothers-in-law, Herb and Bill Jones; and sisters-in-law, Ethel Burd, Iola Johnson, and Edith Reineke.
The FUNERAL SERVCE will be 11 AM Monday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. with Pastor Bernie Mulder officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 10-11 AM. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. Memorial Contributions to Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
