CRESWELL - Franklin Lee "Frank" Alexander, 83, of Creswell died Friday, May 1, at his residence in Creswell.
Born February 29, 1932 in Tyrrell County he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Alexander and Florence Simmons Alexander and was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Alexander; sisters, Thelma Alexander Liverman Hardison and Statha Alexander McClees Cohoon. Frank was a retired minister and served Hebron United Methodist Church, Mackeys United Methodist Church and Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. During his career he served several other United Methodist Churches in North Carolina. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and member of the American Legion.
His family includes his wife, Millie Woodley Alexander of Creswell; sons, Lee S. Alexander and wife Robin of Creswell and Edwin Smith and wife Jackie of Tipton, Ind.; and grandchildren, Chuck Smith and Krysta Muse.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 5, at 2 p.m. at Mackeys United Methodist Church, Roper with Gene Waters and Thomas Biggs officiating. Burial will follow in Azalea Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Albermarle Charge of the United Methodist Church...
