HEBERN SCOTT Funeral services were held June 28 at Riceville for Hebern Scott, retired farmer and miner, who died Saturday at 10 p.m. after an illness of six months. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. at the residence by Rev. Scott Castle and Rev. Warren Helton. Mr. Scott was born Jan. 24, 1893, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lon Scott. He had been a resident of Riceville for the past 19 years. Surviving are his widow, Mary Blair Scott, three sons, Buck, Hebern, and Thomas, all of Riceville, six daughters, Mrs. Hazel Jackson, Mrs. Harger Hannah, Mrs. Kathleen Litteral, Mrs. Cledith Hannah, Mrs. Cleo May, and Miss Edna May Scott, all of Riceville. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Clarence Scott, Asa, Nolan Scott, Conley, Ku., Gab Scott, Wheelesburg, Ohio, John Scott, Jackson, Ohio, Mrs Madge Risner, Conley, Ky., and Mrs, Dora Adams, Owensboro, Ky. Interment was made in the family cemetery at Riceville by the Paintsville Funeral Home. Paintsville Herald Thursday 6-30-1949
