Funeral Services for Mr. James Gerald Harris, age 94, will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, January 31 at Ronk Funeral Home with Brother Stephen Sutton officiating. Interment will be in the Maury City Cemetery.

Mr. Harris passed away on January 28, 2016, in the Alamo Nursing Home and Rehab Facility.

He was born November 29, 1921, in Maury City to the late James Crozier Harris and Winnie Irene Roberts Harris.

Mr. Harris owned Lynn’s Food Store in Maury City, TN, for many years. He was a faithful member of the Maury City Church of Christ for over sixty years.

Preceding him in death were his sister, Eloise Harris Agee; two brothers, Lloyd Harris and C.W. (Wink) Harris.

Surviving relatives include four nieces, Nancy Agee Menninger (Richard) of The Villages, FL, Mary Joyce Agee Nicks (Richard) of Nashville, TN, Rhonda Harris Watson (Ken) of Jasper, AL, and Amy Harris Thomas (Daryl) of Collierville, TN; sister in law Louise Harris; several great nieces and great nephews.

Mr. Harris proudly served for three years in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne, Glider Infantry Division during WWII. He did tours in France, Germany, Holland, and Belgium. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge, the largest battle fought by Americans in WWII.

Visitation will be from 12:30-2:30 pm at Ronk Funeral Home
