BADIN — Gladys Rudisill Sugg 93 long-time Badin resident died February 22, 1999, at Plantation Estates in Matthews. Gladys was born March 26, 1905, in Maiden a daughter of the late Clarence Guy Rudisill and Cora Leola Murry Rudisill. After graduation from Lenoir Rhyne College in 1925, Gladys received a teaching position at Badin School In 1928, she married R Russell Sugg and spent most of her adult life in Badin as a homemaker and teacher. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Russell. She is survived by by her son Robert R. Sugg Jr and daughter-in-law Simone V Sugg of Matthews, grandson R Russell Sugg III and wife Becky of San Antonia Texas, granddaughter Connie S Claeys and husband John of Marshall Texas, great grandsons Jordan and Cory Sugg and Scott and Jason Claeys, step-grandson Daniel Cerqueira and wife Amanda of Coats, step-granddaughter Patricia Cerqueira of Matthews, sister Naomi McLurd of Crouse, brother Robert S Rudisill and wife Romell of Lincolnton, sisters-in-law Virginia Rudisill of Badin, Elizabeth Rudisill of Winston-Salem, Helen Rudisill of Lincolnton and Mary Jeff Rudisill of Gastonia and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday February 26, at 11 AM at the First Lutheran Church in Albemarle, interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 7-8:30 PM on Thursday February 25. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church 230 South Second Street Albemarle NC 28001 or charity of choice Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle is serving the family.
