MRS. ALDEN MARCH, WIDOW OF EDITOR

Mrs. Hattie Tomer March, 91, widow of Alden March, died yesterday in Presbyterian hospital, New York, after a brief illness.

Mrs. March and her husband were natives of Easton. Mrs. March was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret DeHart Tomer. Her husband was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Francis A. March Sr. Dr. March, a noted English scholar, was head of the English Department at Lafayette College for nearly 50 years.

Alden March was a brother of the late Gen. Peyton C. March, who was chief of staff of the U.S. Army in World War I, and of the late Francis A. March Jr., who also headed the English department at Lafayette for many years. Alden March was editor-in-chief of the old Philadelphia Press and later Sunday editor and assistant managing editor of The New York Times. He died in 1942.

Mrs. March was one of the oldest members of Broadway Presbyterian Church, New York City, and until recently served as treasurer of the church's missionary society.

The nearest relatives are two nieces, Mrs. Dorothy A. Peterson and Miss Margaret Arnold, both of Princeton, N.J.

Services will be held in Broadway Presbyterian Church tomorrow at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery Saturday at noon. The Rev. R. Paul Freed, minister of College Hill Presbyterian Church, will officiate at the grave.
