Neil C. Ludwig, 48, of Valley City, died Tuesday evening, June 21 in a Valley City hospital.
Requiem Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 24, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church with the Right Rev. Msgr. James Dawson, celebrant. Interment will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery.
A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at the Peterson-Olson Funeral Home.
Neil Christ Ludwig was born March 31, 1918 in Valley City, the son of Christ and Violet Ludwig. He attended grade school in Rogers and high school at Valley City. In 1938 he went to work for Montgomery Wards, later working as a bookkeeper for Fairmont Foods, and then managed the Eagles Lodge for some time. He joined the staff at Frostad Plumbing and Heating, later going into partnership until Mr. Frostad's death in 1955, when he took over ownership. Mr. Ludwig sold the business in 1965.
He was married to Irma Eberle on November 9, 1943, at St. Mary's Church in Dazey. He was a member of St. Catherine's Church, the Elks, Eagles, and K.P.
Besides his widow he leaves one son, Mark, and one daughter, Marcy, both at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christ Ludwig of Valley City; one brother, Wade, of Rogers; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Melba) Johnson, of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Richard (Jean) McAllister of Tacoma, Wash.
