Per his granddaughter, Edna Jewell (Hall) Rhodes, Bob Hall left his second wife, Nancy Turner, taking his sons Lewis, John, and Noah, and was returning to Bowie County. He got sick just as they approached the Trinity River and died just after they crossed it. They buried him at Elkhart. However, he is listed as having been buried at Sand Hill Cemetery. There is no tombstone to verify this.
