SAVANNAH - Mrs. Grace Fields Hall (89) went to be with the Lord Jesus on her birthday, March 16, 2011. She died peacefully at home listening to hymns and attended by her family. As a native of Chatham County, she attended Chatham County schools. Working in New Jersey during World War II, she returned to Savannah after V-Day and was employed by the Corps of Engineers and Savannah Magnetto. She then moved to American Cyanamid as a payroll clerk where she retired after seventeen years of faithful service. Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hall; her parents, Reuben James and Clara Eason Fields and her beloved sister, Elinor Chastain. She is survived by her son, Cale Robert Hall of Savannah, and her brothers; Charles Fields (Louise) of Hagan, Georgia and Gerald Eason (Johnnie) of Savannah; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Hall was a charter member of Wilmington Island United Methodist Church. The family will receive visitors at the church located on 195 Wilmington Island Road, Savannah, GA from 10:30 am to 11:00 am on March 18, 2011 and the memorial service will follow officiated by her nephew, Rev. Charles Michael Chastain of St. John's Church (Episcopal). Burial will be in the Eason Family Cemetery in Evans County at 2:00 pm. A reception for family and friends will follow at the home of Rev. Chastain.
