Wife of Charles Reuben Fields. Our Daughter: Phyllis Fields NeSmith. Our Son-in-law: J. Mellie NeSmith. Our Grandson: C. Cody NeSmith. CLAXTON: Louise Rogers Fields, 83, born July 28, 1931, passed away October 22, 2014, at Memorial Hospital. She was an Evans County native but resided in Savannah for many years, before moving back to her home town of Claxton in 1975. She was a very special, loving mother and grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her family was the most important possession she had and she enjoyed entertaining each and every one.

‘Mom’ enjoyed all of nature. She and dad enjoyed camping and fishing. They camped in every Georgia State Park and fished in a lot of them also. She enjoyed watching the hummingbirds at her feeders, digging in her yard or brother Odell’s garden, and could grow just about anything. God also gave her the special gift of cooking, and we would tease her about dragging people off the street to feed them, but most of all, she was a faithful Christian that loved her God. In the end, her Lord and Savior made her passing a very peaceful experience.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles R. Fields.

SURVIORS: daughter, Phyllis and son-in-law, Mellie NeSmith of Claxton; her most special gift and grandson, Cody NeSmith, and the special girls in his life, Heather, Jayda and Victoria Leggett, all of Claxton; two brothers, Odell Rogers of Claxton and Donald Rogers of San Francisco, CA; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Johnnie Fay Eason of Savannah; and so many special nieces and nephews that meant the world to her.
