Blue Mountain - Betty Ruth Vandiver, 86, passed away, Monday, May 11, 2015 at her home. She was born February 19, 1929 to the late George and Doris Newman Barnes. She was married for sixty-eight years and nine months to Robert H. Vandiver. Betty was as a RN and retired from Tippah County Hospital after thirty-four years, loved to help deliver babies, and taught a class at Tippah County Nursing Home. She loved to paint and take care of animals. She was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church, devoted pastors wife, mother and perfectionist.

Services will be at 1:00 pm, Wednesday at Locust Grove Church with Bro. Doug Horton officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband,Robert H. Vandiver of Blue Mountian; two daughters, Margaret Lynn Doyle (Homer) of Hornby, and Jamie Paulette Bates (Jerry) of Camden; two sons, David H. Vandiver (Melinda) of Columbus and Tony Douglas Vandiver (Sherry) of New Albany; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and fiends.

She was also preceded in death by one great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 5-9:00 at Locust Grove Baptist Church in Union County.
