Edward H. Sims Called By Death
Edward H. Sims, age 75, husband of Maude Sims, passed away at his home, Bambo Harris, Wednesday evening. Born in Venice, January 31, 1875, the son of William and Surilda Ruble Sims, pioneer residents of that area, he attended the rural schools of his community. He married Phoebe Montgomery of New Haven, Ohio, June 21, 1905, and she preceded him in death October 15, 1918. On November 3, 1921, he married Maude Williams Lipphardt of Hamilton.
A carpenter before retirement, he was associated with his brother, Arthur Sims, in the Sims and Benzing Construction company many years ago. For more than 50 years he was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union, Local 637, of which he was a past president.
He leaves besides his widow, Maude, one son, Capt. Edward J. Sims, stationed at Fort Bragg, N. C., two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Pfirrman, Hamilton, and Mrs. Mark Darth, Long Beach, California; one brother, Arthur Sims, Hamilton. Burial in Venice cemetery.
