Louisa and David Meade were married November 17, 1814. Louisa was born at "Roseville" plantation. While some accounts have her dying at "Ben Venue" plantation, where she and David lived, more contemporary reports have her dying at the farm of their son, John Nelson Meade.
**Note**
The Clarke County Historical Association is in possession of a picture of Louisa. As they have stamped it with "Property of Clarke County Historical Association," it's safe to assume that, for whatever reason, they don't want others displaying it, regardless of its age.
**Note--thought the stone appears to show 1878 as the year of death, a number of sources show 1858. I've gone with the sources, as the stone was difficult to read.
