Martha Matilda "Mattie" (Lee) Luckey was born on December 18, 1849 in Jackson County, Tennessee, the daughter of Alfred Moore Lee (1812–1879) and his wife Rebecca "Becky" (Galbreath ) Lee (1811–1906).

She was married about 1869 to William Harris Luckey (1838-1917), the son of John Luckey (ca 1792–1841) and wife Rebecca (Conditt) Luckey (ca 1808–1885).

Living at 2817 West End Avenue, Nashville, Mattie was 91 years old when she died at home of broncho pneumonia on October 7, 1941. Burial was the next day in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
