Juanita Allison, 83, of New London, Mo., passed away at 2:07 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Mo.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the Second Christian Church in New London. Rev. Faye Vaughn, Rev. Richard Smith and Superintendent Jerald Woods, Sr. will officiate.

Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in New London, Mo.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Second Christian Church in New London, Mo. The family is being served by the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.

Mrs. Allison was born Nov. 17, 1931, in New London, Mo., to Tommy Burton and Margaret E. Murphy Burton Lawson.

She was married to Carl Edward Allison on Jan. 31, 1962 in New London, Mo. He survives.

Other survivors include three children, William Allison (Julie), Marsha Mayfield (Ed), and Deborah Ubom; two sisters, Vanessa Allcorn (Pete) and Ernestine Grimmett (Howard); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Julia and Kay, Emma Lou Wells, Wanda McBride, Mildred Hobbs, Phyllis Woods (Rev. Jerald, Sr.), Meredith Burton, Gary "Buck" Robinson and Tony Robinson; eight grandchildren, Angie Ware (Joe), Jennifer Smith, Bianca Mayfield Miller (Austin), Talya Mayfield, Mariah Mayfield, Messiah Mayfield, Julian Allison and Aniekan Ubom, 11 great-grandchildren, Ashley Ware, Joey Ware III, Jordan Ware, Maciah Smith, Julian Allison II, Inanda and Amaia Allison, Aymara Ubom, Nia Ubom, Graceson Miller, Canaan Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Edward J. Lawson; six brothers, Guy Murphy, William "Billy" Murphy, Logan Murphy, Erie Murphy, R. Vernon Murphy and Robert Lawson; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy Allison, Jr., James Allison, Sr., Harper Allison, Sr., Lincoln Allison, Sr., Sandra May Talton and Rosalyn Kay Robinson.

Mrs. Allison retired from Pillsbury (now General Mills), and then she helped with the Foster Grandparents Program with Head Start for 19 years. She loved music. While living in Chicago, Ill., on one occasion she even sang with the legendary blues group "Muddy Waters," but declined an invitation to travel and tour with them. Mrs. Allison also loved dancing, traveling and visiting with people. She was a member of the Second Christian Church of New London, Mo. We love and miss her and will see her in the future, "Lord's Will."

Memorial contributions may be made to Second Christian Church of New London, Mo., in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Murphy, Casey Minter, Evander Nunn, Terry Lee Burton, Henry Erby and Rodney Wells.

Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil Johnson, Donald Burton and Wayne Stevenson.
