Anne Kosct Banwell, 93, of Auburn, died Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Finger Lakes Center for Living, following an extended illness. Mrs. Banwell was a native of Auburn, the daughter of the late Stephen and Julia Kucirka Kosct. She resided in Geneva for many years until the death of her late husband, Howard Banwell in 1991. She returned to Auburn in 1993. She retired from General Electric, Auburn, following 30 years of service. She was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. Anne is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Hryvko of Camillus and Ludmilla "Millie" Smart of Auburn; and her brother, Paul (Barbara) Kosct of Pilot Hill, CA. She is also survived by her godchild, Kathy Hryvko; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Julia Kovach and Mary Kosct; and six brothers, Stephen, John, William, Nicholas, Michael and Peter Kosct. Funeral services for Mrs. Banwell will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Plis Funeral Home, and 9:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Half Acre.
