He was born October 4, 1872 in Tennessee and had been a resident of Van Buren for 42 years, moving here from Havana, Arkansas, where he owned a general store. He was the founder and owner of the Twin City Brick and Tile Company in 1924 and operated it for a number of years. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors are his wife, Carrie; six sons; four daughters, Marjorie, Mary Lee, Sue and Elizabeth; several grandchildren, one of whom is Eddie Martin; and several great granchildren.
Funeral service was held Friday at 2 p.m. at the First Assembly of God church with the pastor, Edwin Burris, officiating. Burial was in Gill Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 6 of Van Buren, Arkansas which conducted the Masonic burial service at his grave.
