George Warren Greenwell, Jr., age 88 of Palm City, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Harper House in Stuart, FL. George was born Wednesday, February 25, 1925 in Providence, RI, son of the late George Sr. and Emma (Martin) Greenwell.

George worked for 35 years as a U.S. Postal Letter Carrier in Rhode Island. He moved to Florida from Rhode Island 20 years ago and has been an avid bowler for many years. He has also been a long time member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City, FL.

Surviving are his loving wife of 15 years, Lois Greenwell of Palm City, FL; 5 children, Beverly Martin of Warwick, RI, Janice & David Crimmins of Warwick, RI, Michael & Nancy Greenwell of Tucson, AZ, Stephen & Robin Greenwell of Coventry, RI and Mary & Jeff Charest of Lewiston, ME; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary A. Greenwell.

A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1454 SW Mapp Rd; Palm City, FL 34990.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (865 SE Monterey Commons Blvd; Stuart, FL 34996). Arrangements are by the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Stuart, FL.
