Mr. Rinaca was raised in Shenandoah and in 1940 he attended the airplane training program at Virginia Tech before becoming an Army Air Corp Sergeant during WWII. He was married to Maxine Arbutus Dofflemyer, who survives. Carlton was later employed by Sullivan Mechanical, in Shenandoah, for many years and then by Merck, in Elkton, before retiring in 1993. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and antique collecting and restoration.
In addition to his wife, Carlton is survived by his son, Larry Carlton Rinaca and wife, Dianne Roberts, of Georgetown, TN; and brothers, U.S. "Jack" Rinaca and wife, Billie Ann, of Shenandoah and Edward "Eddie" H. Rinaca and wife, Joann, of Chesterfield, VA.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Fields United Methodist Church in Shenandoah with the Rev. Stephen Creech officiating. A burial will be private at the Methodist Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 am prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fields United Methodist Church, 501 Senior Ave, Shenandoah or the Shenandoah Rescue Squad.
