"Last Thursday evening, Fr. W. W. Wixom, the father of Mrs. Raymond Palmer (Emma Nevada), died at his residence, 524 Twenty-fourth Street, Oakland. The deceased never recovered stroke of paralysis received three years ago. He was a native of Pen Yan, NY and was sixty-dour years of age. At the age of four his parents removed from New York to Michigan. Deceased graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He came to California in 1851, settling in Coloma, El Dorado County. He afterwards went to Nevada County, {CA} and in 1864 settled in Austin, Nevada. When Emma Nevada made her debut, her father was with her and traveled with her until her marriage with Dr. Palmer. Since receiving the stroke of paralysis, deceased has made his residence in Oakland. The funeral will take place on Sunday under the auspices of the Masonic Fraternity."

"The late Dr. Wixom died interstate and recently Mrs. Kate Wixom, the widow, filed a petition for letters of administration upon the estate, which is valued at $10,000, consisting principally of real estate situated in the state of Michigan. The heirs at law are the petitioner, aged 45 years, Mrs. Emma Palmer (Emma Nevada), aged 31 years and Edwin Wixom, aged 7 years. Emma Nevada is in Paris."
