Florence E. Cortelyou, 94, of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 1:20 PM Friday, May 1, 2015 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.

She was born on May 18, 1920 in LaHarpe, IL, the daughter of Henry and Helen Bradshaw Brandt. On August 26, 1939 she married Doren S. Cortelyou in Raritan, IL. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1993

Florence was a 1938 graduate of the former Terre Haute High School, Terre Haute, IL. She worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, Cortelyou Feed and Seed for many years, and worked along side her husband on the farm, helping with planting and harvesting. Mrs. Cortelyou enjoyed restoring old trunks, refurbishing over 400 of them. She also collected pitchers and oil lamps. Florence and her husband spent many winters in Texas. She was a member of the LaHarpe United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Robert and Roger Cortelyou, four sisters and three brothers.
