Survived by wife Lydia. Member of West End Baptist Church. Moved to Houston in 1899. His father was a linotype operator for the Houston Chronicle, and when Bud was old enough, he became one of the first carriers, throwing newspapers from horseback for the Chronicle. Former member of Heights Volunteer Fire Department when 50 gallon horse-drawn pumpers were used. Married Lydia Moore in 1917. He helped to organize and build Cottage Grove Baptist Church. Bud retired from Railway Express Co. in 1960 after 49 years of service.
