Virginia Mae (Heiberg) Wright was born June 30, 1926, to Hans and Tressa (Shaw) Heiberg in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was raised in the Crescent, Iowa area and attended school there. On May 2, 1943, Virginia married Orville Wright in Papillion, Nebraska. The couple lived on a farm near Pisgah. They later bought their present farm northeast of Woodbine. Virginia helped take care of the house and raised the family. Virginia loved gardening, canning, sewing, and golfing.
Virginia died on Monday, April 27, 2015, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 88 years, nine months, and 28 days.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Burbridge; brother, Robert "Bob" Heiberg and granddaughter, Jennifer Alvis. She is survived by her husband, Orville Wright of Woodbine, Iowa; five children, Janice and her husband Dave Wilson of Livingston, Texas, Leonard Wright and his wife Sharon of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Judy and her husband Mike Alvis of Woodbine, Iowa, Janette and her husband Rod Severyn of Shell Knob, Missouri, Tom and his wife Jody Wright of Meeker, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Richard Heiberg of Downey, California; sister, Mary Phillips of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
