Eddie Glenn Lewis, 53, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2015, in a local nursing home. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Temple. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 1, 2015, at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Temple with DJ Billingsley and Dell Strickland officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m., in Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, Texas.

Eddie was born in Temple, Texas, to Harold and Verna Joy Lewis. Becoming a diabetic at age 14 gave Eddie the calling to be a nurse. He became an RN in 1984 graduating from University of Mary Hardin Baylor and continued nursing up until health issues prevented him from continuing his career 10 years ago. Eddie loved to fish, camp, umpire baseball and softball, play video games, watch movies. He loved his dogs, they were his kids.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Harold Eugene Lewis; and sisters: Shirley Rush, Jean Shanks, and Bettye Lewis.

Survivors include his mother, Verna Joy Lewis, of Temple; sister, Patsy Lawrence, of Temple; brother, Wayne Lewis, of Lubbock; 12 nieces and nephews; 22 great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-nephew. P18
