In 1875 When Gilbert and his fiance Louise M. Gundlach were hiking on Talcott Mountain when he promised to one day build her a castle on the mountain (now known as Heublein Tower)
Gilbert and Louise were married Dec. 2 1876 and moved into a house on Prospect Ave., West Hartford, CT
On Oct 20 1877 their daughter Alice was born. Alice moved to England and married Percy Martin.
On Sep. 18 1879, a son Arthur was born, he became a doctor at Hartford Hospital where he pioneered the use of X-rays and radium treatments for cancer patients. He was named the patron of the nursing school attached to Hartford Hospital.
In 1891 Heublein Hotel opened in Hartford, CT
In 1895 the Heublein family begins manufacturing A-1 Steak Sauce in the United States.

1911-1914 Heublein Tower is built by T.R. Fox & Son. In 1919 a second phase of construction begins to add the dining room, kitchen, servants' bedrooms and Gilbert's sleeping porch. In 1929 another phase of construction adds a servants' dining room/modern day boardroom and more servants' bedrooms. In 1943 Heublein Tower is sold to the Hartford Times newspaper after John G. Martin discovers $70,00 is due in back taxes. The Times intends to use the Tower as a broadcasting location and place to entertain. President Dwight D. Eisenhower and President Ronald Reagan both visited. In 1962 The Heublein Tower is sold to a group of three real estate developers. The "Save Talcott Mountain Association" is formed and fight the development plans and make the Tower part a state park. 1966 Aug 16 The State of Connecticut purchased the Tower and $557 acres for $500,000. The State began restoration of the Tower in 1973 having suffered vandalism while it was empty. 1983 The Tower placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today 'Friends of Heublein Tower' formed. 1986 John G. Martin died.

Her grandson, John G. Martin, son of Alice Heublein Martin graduates from Cambridge i England. John emmigrates to the United States and becomes an American citizen. John becomes a salesman for his grandfather's A-1 Steak Sauce. G.F. Heublein * Bro. is reduced to selling only A-1 Steak Sauce during prohibition 1920-1933

On Jul 13, 1935 Louise Gundlach Heublein dies and is buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Her husband Gilbert dies in 1937 and is buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The business it taken over by John G. Martin.
