JoAnn R. Hermann, 86, formerly of Rural Walcott, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Center, Davenport. Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Friday, May 1, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1923 Fillmore Street, Davenport. The family will greet friends Friday at the church from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangements.

JoAnn R. Ryan was born February 11, 1929 in Fontanelle, Iowa, a daughter of Vincent P. and Hazel A. (Pope) Ryan. JoAnn graduated from Davenport High in 1947. JoAnn was united in marriage to Russell A. Hermann on September 18, 1948 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. Russ passed away May 5, 2006. She had been a receptionist for Dr. Tueckes for many years.

JoAnn enjoyed bowling but her greatest joy was her family. She was a member of USBC, Farm Bureau, and the Walcott Community Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Maysville Fire Department.

She is survived by her children and their spouses; Janet (Glen) Helble, Fairfax, Iowa, Karen (Steve) Graap, Blue Grass, Kevin (Diane) Hermann, Eldridge; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; her brothers, John (Rose) Ryan, Titusville, Fla., Eugene (Caroline) Ryan, Summerfield, Fla.; a brother-in-law, John Wm. Miller, Gettysburg, Pa; and many loving nieces and nephews.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter Diane, parents, a sister Alice Miller, and a great grandson.
