WOODSTOCK SENTINEL REVIEW, JULY 26, 1937:
HENRY CHARLES ARGENT - An engineer at the La France Textiles Limited for the past six years, Henry Charles Argent passed away at his late residence at 646 Francis Street yesterday. Mr. Argent had lived for many years in the city, being connected at various times with the larger manufacturing plants here in the capacity of engineer, including Hosiers Limited, Harvey Knitting Company and latterly the La France. Mr. Argent was born in London, England and came to Canada at the age of ten, living as a young man at Stratford, Ostranders’ Corners and, following his marriage to Catherine Sivyer, came to this city. A farmer at the time, he moved to Tillsonburg for a number of years, still engaged in farming. He came to this city in 1919. He was a member of College Avenue United Church. Surviving are his wife, four sons, Lorne of London; Wilbur, Jesse and Dayton, of this city; four daughters, Mrs. Howard of Eden, Mrs. D. Ritchie, Mrs. M. Edmiston and Elsie, city. A sister, Mrs. A. Miller of this city also survives. The funeral will take place from the E. F. Meadows funeral home on Tuesday with services at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Hillview Cemetery.
