She married (1) John A. Bailey on October 31, 1893 in Hart County, Georgia, his second wife. Their known children were: Nannie Lou, Lecie(Lessie) and Thomas Cromwell Bailey.

Mrs Rhoda G Rumsey Bailey, who states DOB as April 19, 1871 has a CSA pension application on line under Hart County in the Ga Archives. She shows proof of marriage to John A. Bailey on 10/31/1893 in Hartwell, Ga. She says he served in Company F of the 38th GA Infantry. Pension office records on the paperwork say he was wounded and captured at the Battle of Cold Harbor, VA. He was released from Prison in Elmira, N. Y on June 11, 1865 and died in Hart County on July 10, 1910.
