Della's mother was "Wilma" ~ Wilmith A DORRIS. Wilma's 1st husband was John B MORRIS, who died in the Civil War. Her 2nd husband was William Robert FORTNER. Della was born in 1881, after the Census of 1880... and there is no 1890 Census (the warehouse burned down)... so, she is not found living with her parents in the Census. In 1898, she married George Washington WHITLOCK, so that marriage document is her primary genealogical document at this time.
Della's grandparents were Josiah Jackson DORRIS & wife Elizabeth FREY, both of Robertson Co, Tennessee. Her great grandfather was the famous Baptist preacher: John "The Baptist" DORRIS & wife Phebe CULBERTSON. John's father was Isaac DORRIS, who was a soldier in the 1776 - the American Revolutionary War, NC. Isaac's father was William DORRIS & wife Mary ROAKE, both, immigrants from Ireland.

Commentary
Della is a difficult ancestor to track down. Her maiden name can be found spelled as "Ford", "Forline", "Faulkner", and "Fortner"... and her death record spells her mother's name as "Marce"... a bad spelling of "MORRIS". Many members of the family remember her name, ancestors, and relatives as "FORTNER", and her marriage certificate has the name of "Wilma FORTNER" on it as her mother, who had to sign to give permission. (Her father was already deceased at the time). Also, her name "Della" is found spelled as "Delia", and "Dellia" in different records. Also, her daughter Victoria Irene had a nickname: Iredee -- which is spelled a multitude of ways in the census and other documents.
