She was born July 24, 1920, in New Haven, Ill., to Thomas and Clara (O'Neil) Cathey. She married James Boatright on Jan. 9, 1943, in Louisiana. He passed away in July of 1979 in Peoria.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers; two sisters; and one daughter, Sharon Boatright.
She is survived by her son, Jimmie Boatright.
During World War II, Maxine was a welder at the Evansville, Ind., shipyards. Later, she was a seamstress at the Jim Noonan Company in Peoria Heights.
Burial will be at Lindale Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Harrisburg, Ill.
