Evelyn June (Basel) Sklenar, passed away on April 20, 2015 after living a long, loving and full life of 91 years. She was born June 1, 1923 to Barney and Vira (Fowler) Basel. She graduated from Wahoo High School and Clarkson School of Nursing in Omaha. She married Amos Sklenar on June 23, 1952 in Ceresco. Evelyn was a registered nurse at Clarkson Hospital in her early career and later worked at the Wahoo Clinic for many years. She loved reading, cooking and being with her family and friends. She was a member of the Ceresco Covenant Church and O.E.S.

She is survived by daughters and one daughter-in-law: Jane (Everett) Schreiber, Peoria, Ariz.; Marcia (Timothy) Ranney, Phoenix, and Jean (Steven, deceased) Sklenar, Davey. Grandchildren include John (Marcene) Sklenar, Ceresco; Rachael (Rodney) Mager, Davey; Mark Sklenar, Davey; Danielle Ranney, Seattle; and, Alyssa Ranney, Phoenix; five great granddaughters; sister, Lois Johnson, Wahoo. Preceded in death by husband Amos, son Steven, grandson, Aaron, and brother, Bernard Bud Basel.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday at the Ceresco Covenant Church, 208 West Pine Street, Ceresco. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Ceresco Covenant Church. Memorials to the Ceresco Covenant Church. www.metcalffuneralservices.com
