Armelia was the daughter of Sylvester and Harriet Polly (Monroe) Alger. She married William Wallace Pollock Jun 7, 1864 in Richland Co, Ohio. They soon headed west, stopping off in Kirksville, MO before homesteading in Kansas. She bore nine children before dieing in 1880. This left William Wallace with nine children to care for, all under the age of 15. The oldest two girls, Harriet and Kitty, married Kansas boys, youngest daughter Fannie stayed with Harriet, and the rest moved with William Wallace Pollock to Adair County, Missouri and then to Oklahoma Territory.
