Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, September 2, at 2:00 p.m. for Mrs. Sarah Madelene Underwood, Star Route, CampbellsvilleKy, who died Monday, August 31, 1970 at 1:30 p.m. at the Boston Convalescent Home. . Mrs. Underwood had been in declining health for sometime. Services were conducted by Rev.Garland Sksggs with burial in the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church Cemetery. The lyon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Underwood was born in Larue County February 25, 1892. She lived in Social Bend Community and was a member of the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church. Her mother , deceased, was Mrs. Jane Dodson. Mrs. Underwood was married three times. Her first marriage was to Walter J. Allen, December 23, 1913. He preceded her in death September 30, 1920. To that union four girls were born. Her second marriage was March 14, 1921 to Byrd Caulk, who died June 5, 1941. To this union two boys were born. Her third marriage was September 27, 1943 to Dee M. Underwood, who died February 25, 1967. She is survived by three children, Mae Price, Star Route , Hazel Traxter, Toledo Ohio, and Clifford Caulk, Louisville Ky. 25 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, John Dodson of Star Route, and Jake Dodson of Route # 4. Three children preceded her in death, Gladys Beam, Mattie Belle Allen, and Handley Thomas Caulk.
