Della Mae Sampson of Potosi, Missouri was born Saturday, January 1, 1921 in Old Mines, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late, Steve Sansoucie and the late, Agnes (Merseal) Sansoucie. Della Mae departed this life on Monday, April 27, 2015, at Potosi Manor in Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of ninety-four years, three months and twenty-six days.

Della was united in marriage to Christopher Sampson on October 31, 1945 in Old Mines, Missouri and they were blessed with five children.

She is survived by sons, Gary David and wife, Catherine Sampson of Branson, Missouri; Michael and wife, Sue Sampson of Alma, Kansas; daughters, Beverly Sampson of Potosi, Missouri; Patricia and husband, Emanuel Clark of Villa Ridge, Missouri; Monica Jane Sampson of Saint Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, Bill Sampson, Jason and Gail Clark, Katy Sampson, Amanda and Justin Van Winkle, Gabriel and Jessie Sampson; four great-grandchildren, Camron Garrett, Charissa Clark, Finn Van Winkle, Greta Mae Van Winkle; granddaughter-in-law, Sondra Clark; sisters-in-law, Pat Beckner, Joan Vaugh, Joyce and Carl Harris; brother-in-law, Jerry and Louise Sampson; also surviving are other relatives and many friends, including great-niece and caregiver, Carisa Skiles.

In addition to her parents Della Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher David Sampson, brothers, Melvin Sansoucie and Nicholas Sansoucie, sister, Leona Baker and grandson, Christopher Clark.

Della Mae was a longtime parishioner of St. James Catholic Church. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Samaritan House and the St. James Food Pantry. Della Mae was active in the VFW Post 6996 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Old Mines Knights of Columbus Council 5936 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved taking care of her grandchildren, cooking, gardening and square dancing with her husband, Christopher. She also enjoyed taking long walks through her neighborhood and making beautiful quilts. Della Mae was a very kind generous woman who will be forever remembered for her loving ways.
Visitation was held 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, April 29, 2015 and 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at St. James Catholic Church with Reverend Rodger Fleming officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in Calvary Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Jason Clark, Bill Sampson, Katy Sampson, Gabe Sampson, Justin Van Winkle and Steve Sansoucie.
Moore Funeral Homes was honored to have served Della Mae, her family and friends.
