He was survived by his sons, Bobby Lee Jones of Cincinnati, Ohio, James Edward Jones of Eubank, Kentucky, Charles Ronald Jones of Eubank, Kentucky, Michael Dale Jones of Science Hill, Kentucky, and Douglas Ray Jones of Science Hill, Kentucky; his daughter, Helen Faye Caldwell of Eubank, Kentucky; his sisters, Lori Fredricks of Williamsburg, Kentucky and May Vaughn of Memphis, Tennessee; ten grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Harrison Jones and Serena (Foster) Jones; his wife Hazel Jane (New) Jones (married May 6, 1939); his son, Paul Richard Jones; his brothers, Marvin Jones, Marshall Jones, and Marion Jones; and his sister, Zorie Jones.
Funeral services were held at the Buncombe Baptist Church with Brother Edwin Bray officiating.
