Napoleon grew up in Amarillo, Texas. He served his country during World War II and was very proud to have served in two branches of the Armed Services, both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy.
Napoleon married his childhood sweetheart, Ethel. They had two sons, James and Gary Lockhart. He and his sons lost Ethel after a lengthy illness with cancer.
He later married again and had another son, Teddy, and two daughters, Amber and Robyn.
He worked through the Pipe Fitters Union out of California as a pipe fitter and welder. He made his home in several states, wherever his work took him.
He eventually moved to Pauls Valley where he met a very special friend, Loretta Boney.
Napoleon received an honorary diploma from Pauls Valley High School.
He also learned to crochet and took oil painting lessons. One of his paintings now hangs in the office of Dr. Charles Mitchell. Napoleon was a Foster Grandparent at S.O.R.C. for many years. He also enjoyed the senior citizen dances and outings.
Mr. Lockhart is survived by three sons: James Louie of Ft. Worth, Texas, Gary Elwood of South Carolina, and Teddy of Milburn, Oklahoma; two daughters: Amber Lynne of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Robin Jonette of Seminole, Oklahoma; and 11 grandchildren.
Mr. Lockhart was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel; three brothers: Narcus, Kenneth and Gerald Lockhart; one sister, Geraldine; and one grandson.
Graveside services for Mr. Lockhart are scheduled for Friday, August 24, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
